Miami F1 Grand Prix Weekend

Fast cars, sunshine, and celebrities, here is an overview of the exciting race weekend in Miami!

Formula 1’s influence in Miami continues to grow with this year’s Miami Grand Prix garnering international attention and attendance by high profile celebrities. This is the third year of the race with the inaugural prix held in 2022.

As the race got started, Max Verstappen was the heavy favorite (having won both the 2022 and 2023 Miami Grand Prix). Verstappen and Red Bull have been an unstoppable force lately and is the 2021, 2022, and 2023 F1 World Champion.

Verstappen started the race strong but after a crash on lap 29, Norris was able to have a strong launch, overtaking him on strategy using the slower safety car speeds, smartly timed pit stop, and making the most of his tire life to take the lead. Norris’ lead grew to 8 second gap over Verstappen by the finish. This is Norris’ first Grand Prix win and the first win for McLaren in the United States since 2012.

The top five finishers are as follows:

Select members received access to exclusive VIP experiences at the Start/Finish Suites, the Boathouse Club at turn 5, and the Turn 18 Grandstands. Suite and Boathouse experiences included a fixed menu with a variety of complimentary cuisine and drinks throughout the race.

Big name celebrities flooded Miami for the race weekend including Tom Brady, LeBron James, Kendall Jenner, Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, Donald Trump, Patrick Mahomes, Ed Sheeran, and Rihanna.

Masterworks featuring Hunt Slonem @ Manolis Projects Gallery

An extraordinary VIP evening at the Manolis Projects Gallery, Florida’s largest working studio and fine art gallery. Manolis features unique paintings, sculptures, and collectible limited edition works from over 40 artists from around the world, with a focus on modern masters and contemporary art.

Guests will have the opportunity to mix and mingle with the festive international art collector crowd and discover 5,000 fascinating square feet of outstanding contemporary art.

Select & David Rosen Galleries present Joaquin Avila Artist Spotlight

Hailing from Guantanamo, Cuba, Joaquin Avila is making waves in the art world. His donation of an art piece entitled Alepo to the United Nations auction for Scholas, an organization dedicated to education worldwide for underprivileged youth, went for a considerable sum on auction, for which he was flown to Rome to meet his Holiness Pope Francis at the Vatican. Recently, he teamed up with Domingo Zapata to paint the largest mural in New York City history.

From selling paintings to George Soros to launching his own line at New York Fashion Week to painting New York City’s largest-ever mural, Zapata is the name on everyone’s lips in the art world. Zapata is based in New York. His work exhibits qualities of graffiti art and an interest in popular culture.
